What’s better than cheese & chocolate?

How about UNLIMITED cheese & chocolate?!

My pick this month was a long overdue trip to the Little Dipper for some fondue!

i present to you ‘the fluffernutter’ – a combo of chocolate, marshmallow cream, and peanut butter!

(Side story- not long after we moved here, Phil surprised me with reservations to what he thought was at the Little Dipper, but ended up actually being for Melting Pot– which is on the complete opposite side of town for us. We’ve always giggled about the mix-up, and still enjoyed our trip to Melting Pot that night. Fast forward a few months, we found ourselves downtown late one evening and tried to pop in to Little Dipper without a reservation. That was a rookie mistake, even during the offseason, as they were totally booked up that night. Still determined, we kept in on our list to try one day and we love that we’ve now had the opportunity to try both establishments!)

We had a gift card to spend (thanks Aunt K! 😉 ) and finally made our reservation at the Little Dipper last Monday evening for an early Valentine’s date. It should come as no surprise that the All-You-Can-Dip special that night did not disappoint! We left feeling slightly defeated after we filled up quickly on just two rounds of cheese and a chocolate, so we will for sure be back to sample more.

If you’re local, I highly recommend making reservations to take advantage of their different specials during weeknights.

We’d arrived downtown with some extra time to spend beforehand, but no set plan, other than to avoid the downpour of rain. To avoid being drenched, we ran up the street with the umbrella in hand, and popped into the first open bar we could find. What a happy little accident to stumble upon Wilmington’s oldest bar, Barbary Coast. We loved us some cheap pre-dinner beers, and the nostalgic dive bar vibes that remind us of Denton.

What’s on your list of places to try this month?
