Happy Thanksgiving week!! This week’s Monday Musings are extra sweet, so let’s get this pie-ty started!
If you need some recipe ideas this week, might I suggest:
🍎 The Brown Sugar-Walnut Dutch Apple Pie from this cookbook is a repeat for me. I made it gluten free last year for both Pie Party and Thanksgiving, and this year I got more rave reviews when I baked it for book club last week. The streusel topping is so much less intimidating than lattice!
🍫 It was my first time attempting this Nutella Brownie Pie that I also whipped up for book club and I was impressed! Definitely saving this in my recipes for next year.
🍪 Another repeat for me is this Cookies & Cream Pie. It is so EASY and I love to make the night before to chill in the fridge overnight. It’s also so simple to make GF and just as delicious — just swap the oreos for gluten free oreos!
🥣 #IYKYK I LOVE CEREALLL (LOL!) so when I saw this recipe for a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pie in an earlier issue of Southern Living Magazine, I just KNEW it was going to be my new pie to try for Pie Party this year! I got rave reviews and hope you do too! My hot-tip would be to wait to make this the same day you plan on enjoying it (note the chill time!) so that is tastes fresh. I had wanted to make this the night before Pie Party, but on an initial recipe test, I noticed that the cereal crust can end up tasting a little stale from being in the fridge overnight.
Yay for the most wonder-fill-ing time of the year!
