Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Ours was AMAZING because we got to take not one, but TWO very overdue trips to the beach. On Friday we grabbed a bottle of our favorite wine, picked up a pizza and booked it to the beach. Skies were overcast and cloudy until right before ‘golden hour’ and we ended up getting to see the most beautiful, vibrant sunset — it was a gorgeous surprise!

We returned home and started prepping this dessert (it’s ridiculously easy!) that we took over our friends’ house to accompany a taco dinner after an afternoon hanging out by the pool.

On Sunday, we loaded up again — this time with Rye, and headed back to the beach for a late morning stroll. The weather was so nice, beaches were practically empty and our lil’ soggy/salty beach potato was so happy to play fetch in the sand as we walked along. Rye’s favorite thing to do is to bring the ball back near Phil and drop it in the water so Phil also has to fetch it out of the incoming waves along the shoreline. It’s kinda funny, actually.

It’s weekends like these that I feel so lucky that we now live so close to the coast. The busy tourists season is over and it’s a good time to finally enjoy ‘locals summer’ around here 😉
