a weekend of thrifty finds & sweet, sandy good times!

Hi, how was your weekend? I can’t lie, ours have been pretty dang swell lately!

This past weekend kicked off with a trip back to the Burgaw Antique store. I was on the hunt for a pretty deviled egg plate to surprise Phil. This man insists on the 60 count box of eggs for just the two of us (like we’re feeding a family of 10+…Lol), so I figured it’s time to zhuzh up a dozen, or maybe two. Fried bacon deviled eggs, anyone?

those pretty blue glasses caught my eye back in january, and i hadn’t stopped thinking of them since.
i told myself, if they were still there, then it was a sign…
and lucky me 😉 because they spark so much joy!

On Saturday, we ventured over to Brunswick Beer Exchange determined to really earn our badges this time. If you can’t tell, I’m all about the cookie and beverage pairings this time of year! We hadn’t been out to BBX since the new owners took over, and I gotta say, it’s looking really cute with the updates they’ve made.

our favorites were a toss up between the IPA and the stout!

We couldn’t pass up an afternoon trip to the beach afterwards. There is no such thing as a ‘bad’ day at the beach, but it was a shame that it was a whole 15 degrees cooler on the coast. Despite it being chillier than we anticipated, we tossed our blanket down in the sand and watched the clouds (and a few seagulls!) fly by. Sometimes it’s kind of nice to slow down and enjoy all the little moments together.

Not pictured was our Sunday super bowl smorgasbord of ribs, armadillo eggs, cheesy pizza dip, warm corn dip, mac n’ cheese, brownies and a football shaped cookie cake. I’m still full just thinking about it, to be honest. The nostalgia of that halftime show was the icing on top of the cake for this millennial!

Hope you’re having a sweet candy filled week! xx
