downtown donuts + other weekend things!

It was just one of those unseasonably warm for January weekends that had me happily ditching the chunky sweaters for a few days, and making me a little too giddy for spring weather to come! Even our small squad of pond turtles made an appearance while catching some rays along the bank for a few days. Plus, we were itching to get outside and have a little more fun after spending the previous frigid weekend doing boring adult things, like cleaning out our garage.

We started with Friday night at Panacea. We’d originally come for a growler refill on kombucha (because we’re over 30, so #guthealth) and we stayed for a yummy dinner.

For a plant-based restaurant, this is the place to be because you won’t leave hungry! The potstickers were a welcomed addition to the menu since our last visit.

Lol, not pictured are our post dinner milkshakes from Cookout on the drive home, because it’s all about the balance over here!

Saturday morning called for some #carbcourage in the form of Wake n’ Bake donuts in downtown Wilmington before tackling the grocery store. Then I soaked up some more sunshine while reading on the porch, and we ended the foggy evening roasting s’mores around our firepit until the rain showed up.

And let’s just say that Sunday was the cherry on top of a 70 degree weather weekend…

We spent the morning strolling along the Wrightsville Beach sand with the shell bags in hand 😉

And naturally, we found ourselves at Tower 7 around lunch for some margs and Baja inspired tortillas. It’s where we former Texans go for our our queso fix around here!

Don’t mind me, as I’ll be over here reminding myself that we’re one month closer to spring in a few days as I dust my sweaters off again. In the meantime, it’s girl scout cookie season so we have some baked goods to look forward to this week!
