monday musings: vol. 2

Welcome back to Jess’ Monday Musings!

A new week, a new mix of favorite finds, little joys, and random sparks of delight. Let’s jump right in. . .

Here’s what I’m loving this week!

  1. I’m all about that soft and cozy lighting (lamps only!) and anything that adds color. These affordable and unique stained glass bulbs really give off a pretty but moody ambiance! I replaced a desk lamp with one of these and have no plans to return to using a boring bulb anytime soon.
  2. I love gifting these bookmarks to fellow book lovers! They’re just so cheeky, clever and humorous. Last summer, I picked out some as a surprise for my book club to celebrate our first year of reading together. With such a variety, you’re bound to find a perfect match for someone on your list. . . or one for yourself 😉
  3. I am somewhat proud to admit that while packing for our last trip, I only found myself last-minute-panic-buying only *one* thing – and it was these pants. They’re ridiculously comfy for traveling and perfectly casual. Shhh, just please don’t tell the skinny jeans in my millennial closet that I am branching out.
  4. What’s in my shopping cart for fall? This cute rugby polo that seems perfect for a seasonal transition to some (hopefully!) cooler weather that we like to call a “false fall” in the south.
  5. It’s been a minute since we’ve made this quinoa bake for dinner and I’m looking forward to bringing it back into a regular rotation at our house. It never disappoints and neither do her cookbook recipes if you’re looking for some flavorful, nutritious meals! Phil and I met her for a book signing in Dallas while she was on tour for one of her cookbooks and she was so kind and refreshingly down to earth. I’d love to know if you end up trying one of her recipes. (photo via Domesticate Me)

Happy Monday!
