the snail days of summer

๐ŸŒ

Don’t mind me just out here trying to live my best #snailsummer life!

So please just hear me out:

Look, this summer has seemed like an unusually HOT one, and I’m normally all for warm weather, but you can find me under a cool shady umbrella in the sand this year ๐Ÿฅต or in the garden ๐ŸŒฟ

We’re moisturized, because we’re in our 30s. . . duh! So don’t forget to reapply that SPF, babyyy ๐Ÿงด

Also, is it just me, or is this summer kind of lazily creeping along at a snails pace? All of the Halloween decorations that are starting to pop up on the store shelves are kinda making me excited for sweater weather ๐Ÿ

. . . but until then, you can catch me near a body of water with a beach read in hand as we enjoy these few short weeks left of “official” summer. After labor day, the tourists and crowds disappear and the real fun of “locals summer” begins ๐ŸŒž

p.s. Did you know that when the weather is hot & dry, snails will enter into a dormancy state called aestivation, which is also known as a “summer sleep.” During this state, snails can sleep on and off for 13 to 15 hours at a time, and their sleep cycles can last up to three years!

So I say “good on you snails!” because I love me a nice, long afternoon nap too. Lol
