Welcome back to Drinks with DINKS!
We’re summoning something special from the bar tonight. . .
This month’s beverage: A Creepin’ Cold Brew Martini ☕️
Why we love it: No espresso machine or the patience of waiting on hot coffee to cool required! Our version is ghostly smooth, still devishly caffeinated, and pairs perfectly with late night pumpkin carving—so summon the night with a quick chilled brew in a glass 🌚
What you’ll need: Vodka (to raise your spirits), a little cold brew, and ice (to chill your bones!) 🍸
RECIPE AS FOLLOWS:
- For garnish: marshmallows or marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips
- 2 shots of chilled cold brew (we used Stok)
- 2 oz. of vodka (1 oz. works too for a less boo-zy option!)
- ½ oz. of hazelnut liqueur (we used Frangelico)
- 1½ oz. coffee liqueur (we used Kapali)
- ½ oz. agave syrup (simple syrup works too!)
- Start by warming up a few marshmallows in the microwave for 20 seconds. Spread the puffed up concoction immediately on the inside of a martini glass — bonus points if it’s shaped like a spooky ghost. If you want to skip the microwaving, use marshmallow fluff instead. Garnish your ‘mallows with chocolate chips. We used them to give our ghosts a ghastly face! (Alternatively, you can wait to heat a marshmallow at the very end and spread it across the top of the glass to give the garnish a spiderweb effect).
- Place martini glass in the freezer to chill ahead of time, or at least while you prepare the cocktail.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Add the cold brew, vodka, hazelnut liqueur, coffee liqueur and agave syrup into the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for approximately 20 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into the pre-chilled martini glass.
- Sip, summon and enjoy!
Serves one.
